Transit Scheduling: Schedule Efficiencies Course is an in-depth look into strategies and techniques that produce cost-effective schedules. The course will explore schedule-building approaches that can result in significant savings for an agency.

Current union contracts and agency policies play a role in the strategies presented in this course. Familiarizing yourself with the rules and having a union contract available as you take this course can enhance the value you will gain by helping you become aware of areas you can capitalize on.

The Schedule Building Efficiencies Course is designed to offer agencies methods to obtain cost savings. Most agencies will cost Platform hours at roughly $100 – $120 for each service hour. In this course, we will use $120 per hour to calculate possible savings. This equates to $500 for each platform minute that an agency can save in the weekday service (120/60 *250). With a yearly reduction of $30,000.00 to the budget for each service hour, there are significant savings with minor adjustments to schedules.

This course will discuss subtle schedule reductions in service to obtain savings.  Our goal is to not reduce service to the public.
